Wildflowers:
After a burial we welcome families to plant wildflowers on their loved ones graves. It is important that the wildflowers that are planted are native. Garden Centres don’t tend to sell native wildflowers. We would encourage you to ask us for guidance on what is and isn’t allowed to be planted. Peter the Bee is our recommended supplier: peterthebeeandfriends@gmail.com or call 07500 535 489. We have Planting Days in March and September each year, when people can come and buy native wildflowers from Peter the Bee.
We will remove any non native wildflowers, we regret any upset this might cause, but this is essential in keeping Humber Woodland natural.
Please note, wildflowers should be planted on the grave area to avoid them being mowed.

Graves:
Each grave space measures 5 foot x 8 foot. Wildflower planting should take place within this area. If wildflowers are planted in the pathways they may be mowed. We have a large site and the mowing of paths is essential in ensuring that people can travel safely around the area.
Grave Markers:
Any plans for a memorial should be submitted to the management before an order is placed.
In order to preserve the natural appearance and ethos of Humber Woodland of Remembrance and to comply with our Planning Permission, it is necessary to adhere very strictly to our Conditions of Use, particularly in regard to memorials and planting.
We aim to establish a natural Herefordshire woodland and therefore it is not considered suitable to allow monuments, kerbs, fences, railings or ornaments to be placed on or around the graves. We regret any upset this might cause, but any such structures which appear will be removed.
Graves may only be marked by locally sourced, small stones or small logs, laid flat on the ground:
Stone or wooden markers as described below are the only grave markers allowed at Humber Woodland of Remembrance. No other ornaments may remain on the graves, apart from cut flowers and planted native wild flowers. Learn about planting wildflowers here.
Stones or logs to mark burial plots may be no more than 40cm square.
Stones or logs to mark cremated remains may be a maximum of 30cm square.
Trees:
Any tree or shrub planted at Humber Woodland of Remembrance must be ordered through the management. It is important to understand that the price of planting a tree at Humber Woodland reflects the maintenance of the tree and the space the tree will eventually occupy rather than the initial cost of the tree/sapling.
Please note, trees will be maintained/pruned as necessary by management. When digging nearby graves it may be necessary to cut back branches.
