Any tree or shrub planted at Humber Woodland of Remembrance must be ordered through the management. Should a family wish to supply a tree themselves, this must be after consultation with the Management. A charge will also be made for such trees, as the prices of planting trees at Humber Woodland reflects the space the trees will eventually occupy.
As far as possible, trees will be 200 – 250cm tall. Prices include a stake and rabbit guard as well as the obtaining, planting and maintaining of each tree. We guarantee to replace any tree which dies within ten years of being planted.
In the case of more than one plot being purchased together, it is advisable to have a ‘joint’ or even a family memorial tree, to be planted at the time of the last plot being used. This will enable a single tree to have plenty of space to grow into a large specimen, and will mean that no digging will disturb its roots, once it has been planted. In the meantime, plots can be marked by a small, carved memorial stone and by planting native wild flowers.
Families may be involved in the planting of trees, if they wish.
Please remember, nothing may be placed or planted on or near a grave at Humber Woodland of Remembrance, without the prior approval of the management. This is to ensure that we preserve the wild and natural appearance of the site, and also that we comply with our planning permission. |
