The Risbury Court Hop Kiln is available for funeral ceremonies and wakes.
Last used for drying hops in 2007, the hop kilns have now been converted into a large space where religious or non-religious funeral ceremonies can take place, or where wakes may be held.
There is a fully equipped kitchen available for use by families or caterers, to provide teas or other refreshments for mourners, and there also toilet facilities. It would also be possible to use Risbury Court Hop Kiln as a reception venue for people who have driven a long distance to a funeral, so that they could meet and have coffee and a break before the funeral takes place, it can accommodate up to 75 people.
The Hop Kiln is situated at Risbury Court, where there is room to park cars around the house and buildings. For larger funerals, we would hire a mini-bus to provide a ‘park and ride’ service between Humber Woodland of Remembrance (where there is ample parking space) and the farm.
It provides a private venue, where families may celebrate the life of their loved one in their own way. There is no need to worry about time. It is yours for as long as you need it.
